Finally, we tested it with a new XMON unit at the same time, and it runs well, it didn't mute automatically.Īnyone had this problem before? Look forward to receive all of your advise. We have also checked that the XMON cable run properly without hard bending. Then, we get back to normal again, the D-Command status shows "XMON ON" and we can hear the audio from the speakers.īut this is only remain for a while, it leads to a situation following a self mute (without pressing mute), where the D-command indicates that it is muted but audio is coming out of the monitors and we cannot change the volume adjustment via the volume knob or either change the speaker input selection (the volume and the speaker input selection are remain to our choice before the self mute occurs), or alternatively (following a mute press but not adjustment) where the D-command indicates it is unmuted but no audio emanates from the monitors. But sometimes it does not work, hence we did turn power OFF and ON again on the XMON unit. Sometimes, you can wiggle the volume knob then release the mute button again to be able to hear the audio again. This happens intermittently, at intervals from a few seconds to a few minutes, regardless of whether Pro Tools is running. Then, we tried to release the mute button on the D-Command, but still there is no audio out from the speaker although Pro Tools is running with audio signals on Master Fader. The XMON has been automatically muting its monitor section, it appears on the D-Command status "XMON OFF". It´s not complicated, just needs a bit of attention. We have a customer who recently had a XMON problem. I enclose a link to the pinouts and also to a diagram showing where stuff needs to be plugged. 1 04-17-2017, 05:50 PM sjtae Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: South Korea Posts: 12 96I/O, XMON, D-command connection Hi guys, I am using PT HD9, connected with 96 I/O, XMON and D-command. In the user guide (guide version 7.3, page 22), theres a diagram showing typical connections between an XMON and a 192 I/O. If you have both an Omni and an AVID I/O, choose one of the converters to output the regular PT buss (stereo or 5.1) and connect it on the Xmon respective Dsubs connectors. You need a breakout cable with Dsub to female xlr´s to connect the male xlr´s of the BM outputs. If you use the BM card outs 12&13 to output the MAC audio, you need to connect it to one of the 3 Stereo inputs available on the Dsub 25 pin on the rear of the Xmon. The cable must follow the exact pinouts as described on your D Command guide, otherwise it will be messed up. What type of breakout cable are you using to connect your MAC outs (via BM outs) to the Xmon stereo inputs? It seems that the problem lies there. You connect the gear and that´s it, all operations take place on the surface. There´s no app or control panel for Xmon. Is there any possibility to make this problem because of it? I have same audio out for left or right even centre.Īlso I have HD native card and omni in my system as well. Therefore, this patch introduces a new xmon command 'lp' to lookup the address for percpu symbols. Having such an ability would be good for debugging the system when percpu variables got involved. Is there any software to control Xmon like avid coreaudio manager?Īnd also on sound option in system preferences of my mac, balance for control BM pan does't work any more. Currently, in xmon, there is no obvious way to get an address for a percpu symbol for a particular cpu. It works but for all of them its mono and I have to push Stereo 2 or 3 on icon. I check BM 12 and 13 audio out by connected each other to for example ST 3 or 4 or 5 on xmon Lastly, check if you don´t have the Mono button pressed on the D Command by accident:-) It should work fine, where I work we have the BM Decklink Studio outs 12&13 connected to the D Command stereo in1 as you´re doing. (not included), and attach the control lead from the XMON to the D-Control or D-Command Main Unit. With XMON, operators can monitor separate, simultaneous 6-channel mixes (mono to 5.1 surround) as well as three external stereo sources. On the back of XMON are four D-Sub connectors for inputs. XMON Monitoring To monitor projects, D-Command includes the XMON remote, rack-mounted, analog monitor and communications system. Not sure what audio you are using the BM outs for, but whether it´s the desktop video app audio outs or your computer audio outs, check both settings on the respective interfaces. Digidesigns D-Command and D-Control represent perhaps the most ambitious attempt yet to integrate recording and mixing systems. Are you connecting the BM outs to the right pair of inputs on the DB25 stereo ins on the Xmon?Eg. If both channels output, then the problem is at the breakout cable that connects to the XMon. If you only have the right channel, switch it on the BM outs to check if it´s the breakout cable on the BM.
